Scope and Background

AsiaNANO 2010 is the 5th in the series of Asian Conference on Nanoscience & Nanotechnology (2002 Japan, 2004 China, 2006 Korea, and 2008 Singapore), and will be held at the beginning site of the series, Tokyo, Japan. From the second turn of the series, the conference will be devoted to new challenges and innovations in nanochemistry and nanomaterials, especially to encourage and promote collaborations in the Asian Research Network on Fusion Nanoscience & Nanotechnology.

AsiaNANO 2010 will primarily focus on revolutionary approaches and results developed newly in nanochemistry and nanomaterials within two years. The conference will include recent hot topics on chemical and physical aspects of nanostructures as well as their fabrication and characterization technologies, those are of strong current interest in nanoscience and nanotechnology, and industrial inventions and products. Fusion nanoscience and nanotechnology fields including bio-nano and info-nano researches will be highlighted, together with post nanoscience and nanotechnology fields in which emergence of novel concepts and approaches toward next generation are expected.

The conference will consist of plenary lectures, invited and contributed oral presentations, and poster sessions, which will be organized to address the current research status in Asian countries.

 

Topics

In particular AsiaNANO 2010 will include the following topics (but will not be limited to):

1. Nanomaterials: novel chemical and physical characteristics of nanostructures. nanoparticles, nanowires, nanotubes, functionalized polymers, etc.

2. Nanofabrication: recent progress of fabrication and measurements. nanoimprinting, microcontact printing, nanolithography, interfacial reactions, etc.

3. Application of nanostructures: various new applications including energy and environmental ones. nanoelectronic devices, OTFTs, OLEDs, nanophotonics

4. Nanocharacterization: single molecular detection, nanodynamic spectroscopy, nonlinear dynamics, nanofluidics

5. Self-organizing systems: SAMs LB films, layer-by-layer deposition, etc.

6. Fusion Nano: bio-inspired or bio-oriented nanotechnology and nanostructures, and those combined with information technology.

7. Post Nano: next generation processes and applications beyond nano.

Awards (tentative)

"AsiaNANO 2010 Awards" will be given to outstanding papers presented at the conference.
1. AsiaNANO 2010 Conference Award: Given for outstanding contribution to the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology among papers presented at the conference.
2. AsiaNANO 2010 Young Researcher Award: Given for outstanding papers authored by young researchers and presented at the conference.
